All Sue Rioux Kaleidoscopes are hand-crafted and feature beautiful stained glass bodies. Many of Sue's designs have oil filled chambers for a stunning, slowly changing image. The views are also very bright due to the designs easily allowing in light.

Bella Sera A beautiful kaleidoscope with a diamond shaped 4-mirror system. The body is a medium blue glass with swirls of deep blue, purple and white. The large oil filled chamber contains dichroic glass shards, and seed beads in the deep blue colors of a summer evening. Brilliant, intense viewing. Numbered edition of 200. Winter/Spring This is a split kaleidoscope with dual 2 mirror views. One side is Winter, with it's icy cold tones. The other side is Spring, with the colors of flowers blooming. Each side also has hand painted scenes of the season inside the mirror compartment on the non-mirrored side. The body is white iridescent glass with a large dichroic glass bead. The object chamber is liquid filled so sit back and enjoy the slowly changing scenery. A limited edition of 200. Measures 8¼" h. x 5¾" w. x 8½" long

Petit Hummingbird Another masterpiece! This is a dual mirror system kaleidoscope with both 2 mirror and 3 mirror views. The body is a slightly rippled black glass adorned with dichroic glass, filigreed hummingbirds on either side. The handmade stained glass barrel has diamond cutouts on top and stained glass, beads, and dichroic glass for the objects. Brilliant, intense viewing. Numbered edition of 50. Measures 9¾" long x 2¼" w. x 7½" h.

Captiva The Captiva kaleidoscope has a 2 mirror view lined with intense blue accordian dichroic glass. The body is iridescent glass that is mostly teal and is adorned with a sprial sea shell and a dichroic glass bead. The liquid filled object chamber contains dichroic glass, beads and shells in the colors of the ocean. A limited edition of 100. Measures 3¼" h. x 5" w. x 9¼" long

Moonlight Beautiful! This unusual mirror arrangement yields an 8 sided mandala. Blue reeded dichroic glass reflects along the tunnel sides, appearing to line all 8 sides. Continuing the color scheme, the body is an iridescent blue glass with sparkling deep blue rods at the top. The large oil filled chamber contains dichroic glass shards, and beads mostly in aqua tones. Numbered edition of 100. Measures 9½" long x 5" w. x 3" h.

Sue Rioux has been pursuing artistic endeavors from a very young age. She has been designing and making kaleidoscopes and jewelry from glass for about 20 years.Sue lives and works in Kennebunk, Maine with her son Alex and their two cats. Her home and studio overlooks the Kennebunk River. Sue has the pleasure to work with several other talented women who assist her in her creative process. Sarah Smith works part-time with Sue making the kaleidoscopes. Sue's sister Pam helps out with the bookkeeping and shipping end of the business. |
