Artist Statement: Born in 1976, Lisa Zodrow was raised in Princeton, WI. She has been employed by Hunting Studio Glass since 2000 where she assists in the hot shop and oversees the 100+ galleries with which Hunting Studio Glass does business. Although trained as a glass blowing assistant, she began doing her own hot cast glass in 2004. “Cast glass appeals to me because I enjoy more of a hands-on approach to the development of by sculptural forms. Being able to work on the positive in clay before I pour the hot glass allows me to visualize the finished works more clearly. I enjoy the way the glass reflects light. This helps me achieve a ghost like presence in my current body of work where I am trying to capture a feeling of a sense of history and antiquity.” |
